Cajuns Wrap Up Fall At ITA Southern Regional

AUBURN, Ala. - The doubles team of Arthur Libaud and Jamie Fraser reached the Round of 16 in the Men's Open Doubles Flight while Vlad Kramarov reached the quarterfinals of the men's consolation as the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team wrapped up its fall schedule this past weekend at the ITA Southern Regional, hosted by Auburn University.
Freshman Pearse Dolan claimed singles victory in the Men's Open Singles flight while Libaud reached the fourth round in the men's consolation as the Ragin' Cajuns competed against the top teams in the ITA Southern Region.
Libaud and Fraser opened doubles play with an 8-5 win over Rakshit Rishi and Teeradon Tortrakul of Southern Miss in the Round of 64 before posting an 8-2 victory over Tulane's Luis Eriendbusch and Rey Sebastian. In the Round of 1, Libaud and Fraser dropped an 8-2 decision to the Alabama tandem of Osama Mazen and Matthew Rossouw.
After dropping a 3-6, 7-6 (5), 6-1 decision to Auburn's Eddie Nguyen in the Main Open Singles Flight, Kramarov worked his way through the consolation bracket beginning with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Rishi. Kramarov followed with a 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (4) win over Langford Hills of Alabama before defeating South Alabama'a Lucas Gonzalez, 7-5, 6-3, in the fourth round. Kramarov would drop a 6-2, 6-4 decision to eventual consolation winner Eric Komati of UAB in the quarterfinals that ended on Sunday.
Libaud rallied for a 1-6, 6-4, 1-0 win over Tulane's Jonathan Star in the second round of the consolation bracket before posting a 6-4, 6-3 win over Jackson State's Shao Chun Liv.
Dolan opened play with a 7-6 (4), 6-3 win over Samford's Jake Faundez before dropping a 6-4, 6-7, 6-3 decision to No. 16-seeded Pablo Moreno of Troy in the Round of 64.
Louisiana will open the spring portion of its schedule Jan. 14-17, 2017 when it competes in the Florida State Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla.
