Cajuns Drop Pair Of Matches At FSU Invitational

Louisiana to face FAMU on Sunday at 9 a.m.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team claimed the doubles point with freshman Pearse Dolan claiming a 6-3, 7-5 win over Anthony Schohn at No. 3 singles, but Florida Atlantic took four of five singles matches to claim a 4-2 victory on Saturday at the FSU Invitational at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center.
Louisiana (0-2), which will face Florida A&M (0-2) on Sunday at 9 a.m., dropped a 4-0 decision to No. 27-ranked Florida State in the opening match of the eight-team tournament.
The Ragin' Cajuns captured the final two matches in doubles play as Dolan and Vlad Kramarov recorded a 7-6 (9) win over Morin Kougoucheff and Remi Chancerel at No. 1 doubles. At No. 3 doubles, Louisiana clinched the doubles point as Arthur Libaud and Jamie Fraser posted a 7-6 (4) victory over Arthur Stefani and Stefan Burnett.
Dolan gave Louisiana a 2-1 lead after recording his first career win in dual action before FAU (1-1) got singles victories from Stefani, Chancerel and Ignacio Jimenez to claim the match.
In the opener, the team of Coleman Wahlborg and Eric Perez posted a 6-4 win over FSU's Terrell and Terrance Whitehurst before the Seminoles clinched the doubles point after Jack Haffey and Aziz Dougaz claimed a 6-4 win over Fraser and Libaud.
Florida State claimed singles victories at No. 2, 5 and 1 as Lucas Poullain earned a 6-3, 6-3 win over Libaud. Alex Knaff posted a 6-4, 6-3 win over Fraser at No. 5 singles before Guy Iradukunda, ranked No. 71 in the country, defeated Wahlborg at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-4.
