Men’s Tennis Hosts Xavier (La.) Monday

LAFAYETTE -- The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team will return to action at Cajun Courts this Monday, Jan. 18 for a matchup with Xavier (La.) University for a 10 a.m. first serve.
Head Coach Mark Jeffrey's Cajuns came up just short in a close competition to Lamar in Saturday's season opener, falling 4-3.
Senior Edgar Lopez (1-0), sophomore Vlad Kramarov (1-0) and freshman Arthur Libaud (1-0) each opened singles play with victories over the Cardinals.
Xavier, under the guidance of 13th year head coach Alan Green, is has qualified as an NAIA national quarterfinalist in each of the past four seasons. His teams have averaged nearly six duals per year against NCAA Division I programs.
Senior Kyle Montrel is a three-time Intercollegiate Tennis Association's NAIA All-American.
The Cajuns and Gold Rush will play at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Monday.
