DESTIN, Fla. – The 18th ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns golf team will continue its fall slate this weekend as the squad tees off at the Sun Belt Conference Fall Preview hosted at the par-71, 6,860 Raven Golf Course.
Â
The format for the tournament will be different as teams will have six players in the starting lineup with the lowest four scores counting towards the team score each round. The first two rounds are set for Saturday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start, while the third and final round will get underway Sunday at 7:30 a.m. with play starting off of holes one and ten.
Â
"Excited to get back on the road, especially with this being a conference preview," head coach Theo Sliman said. "This is going to give all teams and individuals a chance to see how they stack against the league. I am in favor of the new format of playing six and counting four. It will show the depth of the squads in the conference. I feel very confident that we have leadership and depth on this team."
Â
Louisiana have the same six golfers in action that made the trip to the Sam Hall Intercollegiate to open the season. Â The Ragin' Cajuns posted a second place finish at the event led by junior Fernando Cruz Valle who finished third with his best career score of 10-under par (203).
Â
The Cajuns will be paired with ULM for the first two rounds. For updates and info on Ragin' Cajuns golf, follow the squad on twitter @CajunGolf or check RaginCajuns.com.
