Cajuns Drop 4-0 Match To Air Force

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to Air Force on Saturday afternoon at Cajun Courts.
The match was originally scheduled to be played on Sunday morning, but was moved up to Saturday afternoon due to impending inclement weather in the area.
Air Force (7-1) led early, 1-0, after taking the doubles point behind wins at all three doubles spots in the lineup. Natasha Rizvi and Tracy Landram won over Nelo Phiri and Elena Sava (6-2) at No. 1 doubles, while Lily Forlini and Mary Meyers scored at No. 2 doubles with a (6-2) win over Kelly Drew and Alexandra Way. At No. 3 doubles it was Chloe Forlini and Jocelle Rudico taking a (6-4) win over Abby Johnson and Melissa Burckhartt.
The Cajuns (3-9) owned leads in a pair of sets in singles play, but was unable to score before the Falcons clinched the match. Meyers won at No. 2 singles for Air Force, over Way (6-2, 6-3) and Chloe Forlini defeated Sava (6-2, 6-4) at No. 3 singles.
Another point from Rudico on the No. 6 court over Lauren Dupuis (6-1, 6-1) wrapped up the scoring for the day.
Louisiana will next be in action on March 10 at Tulane.
