Men's Tennis Heads To No. 17 TCU, No. 34 Texas Tech

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns continue their brutal non-conference schedule this weekend when they head to the Lone Star State to take on another pair of nationally-ranked teams in No. 17 TCU and No. 34 Texas Tech.
The Cajuns (9-8) are coming off a win last week over reigning NEC champion Bryant, and have already taken on eight teams currently in the national rankings, with three more waiting in the wings following this upcoming weekend. The week opens up when travel to Fort Worth, Texas, on Friday for a meeting with the Horned Frogs before moving on to take on the Red Raiders on Sunday in Lubbock.
TCU is one of the most improved teams in the country from a year ago, rising from No. 49 nationally to number 17 entering the week. The Horned Frogs are 9-5 and have a top-10 win over Texas A&M earlier this year, in addition to No. 24 Tulsa. They are led by Cameron Norrie, a top-10 world-ranked junior player, in addition to a pair of other players that were former top-10 world-ranked juniors.
Texas Tech is ranked no. 34 nationally and is having another solid year with a 13-4 record. Led by Louisiana native Tim Sigel, the Red Raiders hold wins over No. 31 San Diego, No. 38 Auburn and No. 42 Mississippi State.
Louisiana still finds itself in a battle for the top seed in the upcoming Sun Belt Conference Tournament, needing to leapfrog over No. 58 Troy and No. 60 South Alabama to garner the top spot. The Cajuns already own a head-to-head win over the Jaguars this season and are currently 2-0 against Sun Belt competition. A win over either TCU or Texas Tech would go a long way in helping the Cajuns bridge the gap and grab the No. 1 seed with just four weeks left in the season.
