LAFAYETTE, La. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team took care of business on their home courts on Friday, rolling by New Orleans and Jackson State for a pair of wins at Cajun Courts.

Louisiana (6-5) ran its win streak to four in a row with the victories, taking four of six singles matches to roll past in-state rival New Orleans, 5-2, before not losing a set in sweeping the Tigers by a 7-0 count.

Edgar Lopez, Will Huyton and Damian Farinola all picked up a pair of singles wins on the day to lead the Cajuns with Huyton running his individual win streak to a team-best four straight matches.

The Cajuns took all three doubles matches to secure the doubles point in the opening match against UNO (4-4), starting with Lopez and Farinola knocking off Timo Kranz and Luis Albuquerque (6-2) in the top spot on their way to two doubles wins on the day.

Coleman Wahlberg and Jarred Wynan then teamed up at No. 2 doubles to get by Blake Gregor and Rui Silva (6-4), while Jake Wynan and Huyton earned a No. 3 doubles win (6-2) over Giancomo Adoncecchi and Romain Lefevre.

Jake Wynan stepped into the No. 1 singles spot against the Privateers and needed straight sets (6-2, 6-1) to roll by Kranz. Louisiana also got wins at Nos. 2 and 3 singles with Lopez defeating Albuquerque (6-2, 6-2) at the second spot and Farinola rallying to pick off Gregor (1-6, 6-2, 10-5).

The Cajuns wasted no time in disposing of the Tigers in the evening finale, winning all three doubles matches by 6-1 counts before sweeping singles play without dropping a single set. Farinola and Lopez moved by Carlos Martinez and Richie Agarwal at the No. 1 spot, while Jarred Wynan and Wahlberg easily got past Styllanon Gkontsaris and Miguel Gomez Martin at No. 2 singles. Jake Wynan and Huyton completed the doubles sweep with a win over Camilo Patino and Federico Mendletta.

Farinola slid into the No. 1 singles spot for the first time this season against JSU, outlasting Martinez in the first set before shutting him out in the second set for a (7-6, 6-0) win.

Lopez had no problems disposing of Patino (6-1, 6-0) at No. 2 singles, while Vlad Kramarov picked up his sixth singles win of the season with a (6-3, 6-1) victory over Gomez Martin at No. 3 singles.

It was Huyton defeating Gkontsaris (6-1, 6-3) on the No. 4 court, along with Wahlberg over Agarwal (6-4, 6-1) and freshman Rok Sitar knocking off Vishu Prasad (6-1, 6-2) to close out the scoring for the Cajuns.

Louisiana will now have eight days off before closing out the month of February with a trip to take on Big 10 foe Iowa on Feb. 28 in Iowa City before opening up March against nationally-ranked Drake on March 1 in Des Moines.
