Cajun Classic Festivities To Begin Tuesday

LAFAYETTE, La. – Eight of the top men's collegiate tennis teams in the country are coming to Cajun Courts as part of the revived Cajun Classic, beginning Thursday. Participants have a full six-day schedule with practice, play and a showcase for local students all on the week's docket.
Players and local professionals will take part in a clinic geared toward local youth, one which will introduce a number of young students to the game of tennis. Participants will have a full slate of practice the following day, with play in the four-day event beginning on Thursday and lasting until Sunday.
A full itinerary for the week is listed below:
Tuesday, September 16
8:30-11:00 am: Students from Lafayette Parish Schools System will take part in a clinic hosted by tournament participants, local professionals and volunteers.
Wednesday, September 17
12:00 p.m.: Teams arrive to begin practice
*players and coaches available to media following practice sessions
Thursday, September 18
9:00 a.m.: Round of 32 Championship Singles play begins
11:00 a.m.: Round of 32 Championship Singles continues
12:30 p.m.: Round of 32 Championship Singles and Consolation singles
2:30 p.m.: Round of 16 Championship singles Consolation singles
4:30 p.m.: UL stage band performs before Evening session.
5:00 p.m.: Evening session Round of 16 Championship Singles.

9:00 a.m.: Consolation Singles play
12:00 p.m.: Quarterfinals Championship Singles
