Cajuns Men’s Tennis Wins Third Straight Against Alcorn State

LAFAYETTE, La – The 69th ranked Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team won its third straight match on Tuesday sweeping Alcorn State 7-0 at Cajun Courts to move to 13-4 on the year.
Louisiana is 5-1 at home this season and a perfect 5-0 at Cajun Courts. The Cajuns jumped out to a 1-0 edge taking the doubles point with wins on courts two and three.
Twins Hunter and Yates Johnson clinched the point at the No. 2 position defeating Garry Singh Amor and Nischay Rawal, 8-1.
The Cajuns swept singles competition with five of the six matches decided in straight sets. Senior Rick de Groot increased his win streak to five matches after defeating Ernesto Santillan 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 1 position to give Louisiana a 2-0 edge.
Carl Alberton brought the Ragin' Cajuns within a point from clinching with a strong 6-2, 6-0 win on court four. Yates Johnson clinched the match on court six recording a 6-3, 6-0 victory against Singh Amor.
Hunter Johnson moved to a perfect 10-0 in singles on the spring after downing Rawal, 6-1, 6-3, at line three.
The Cajuns continue their four-match homestand on Saturday at 1 p.m. as they host Tyler Junior College at Cajun Courts. Admission to the match is free.
