Hamilton Tosses One-Hitter Against Defending National Champions

LAFAYETTE, La. – Christina Hamilton brought a no-hitter into the top of the seventh inning before allowing a lead-off single, holding the defending National Champions, Oklahoma Sooners, to just one hit, in a 7-0 victory for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns softball team.
Hamilton tossed 7.0 innings, striking out six batters and walking two, facing three batters over the minimum, to hold the nations 13th ranked team scoreless.
The Cajuns had an opportunity to end the game in the fifth inning with the bases loaded and a seven-run lead, but the Sooners escaped the inning unscathed.
Lexie Elkins and Kelsey Vincent both drove in two runs while each going 2-for-3 at the plate.
The Cajuns and Sooners will finish the doubleheader with first pitch for game two scheduled for 4:45 at Lamson Park. Full daily recap will come after the conclusion of the second game.
