• The Cajuns are riding a three-game winning streak that started with a 77-76 win over league leader Arkansas State (Feb. 15), followed by victories over Troy (Feb. 20) and Georgia State (Feb. 22).
• Louisiana won the first meeting between the schools on Jan. 15, defeating the Jaguars, 65-60. Brooklyn Arceneaux scored 19 points to lead the Cajuns with Kia Wilridge posting a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Setting the Scene: The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team looks to continue its current three-game winning streak when it battles South Alabama in a Sun Belt Conference contest on Sunday at the Cajundome. The Cajuns defeated USA, 65-60, in Mobile earlier this season to snap a 10-game losing streak to the Jaguars. Louisiana is led by sophomore Sylvana Okde and Brooklyn Arceneaux. Okde has been a consistent scorer for the Cajuns throughout the season, averaging 10.9 points per game with a 3-pointer in 25 of 26 contests. Arceneaux has led the team in conference play, averaging 13.4 points and 6.1 rebounds, and is averaging 10.3 points on the season.
About the Opponent: South Alabama is currently one game behind the Cajuns in the Sun Belt standings. The Jaguars are led by Meghan Dunn who is averaging 13.1 points per game. Ronneka Robertson averages 8.5 points and a team-high 8.0 rebounds for South Alabama, which has dropped its last six games.
Track The Bracket: If the season ended today, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns would earn the No. 7 seed in the Sun Belt Conference Championships, which is scheduled for March 12-15 at Lakefront Arena in New Orleans. The Cajuns are currently tied with ULM for the No. 7 seed, but hold the tie-breaker over the Warhawks by virtue of their 77-76 win over league leader Arkansas State on Feb. 15. A win today over South Alabama would give the Cajuns a season-sweep of the series and a two-game lead over the Jaguars with two games to play.
No Sleep For Brooklyn: Sophomore Brooklyn Arceneaux has found her stride in conference play, averaging 13.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per game in conference play. Arceneaux has two double-doubles on the season, including an 18-point, 11-rebound performance against Troy. She has two 19-point games, her career high, against South Alabama (1/15/14) and UALR (1/29/14).
Avoiding the Turnover: The Cajuns lead the Sun Belt in turnover margin (+5.50), forcing 21.3 turnovers a game and turning the ball over 15.8 times. The Cajuns lead the conference in turnovers forced and are second in the conference in turnovers committed. The Cajuns are 15th in the nation in turnover margin with Wright State leading the country with a +9.56 margin.
Doing It With Defense: Part of the Cajuns success this season is thanks to its defensive effort. Heading into the South Alabama game, the Cajuns are third in the Sun Belt Conference in scoring defense (64.6) and steals (8.9) while ranking second in the league in 3-point field goal defense (.298).
Century Mark for Okde: Sophomore guard Sylvana Okde hit 74 3-pointers as a freshman in 2012-13 and has made 61 so far this season, becoming the eighth player in school history to reach 100 career triples. Two players have reached the 200-mark, with Rhonda McCullough (1987-90) holding the school record with 260, and Kim Perrot (1986-90) with 202. Perrot achieved that feat despite the 3-point shot being non-existent in her first season with the Ragin' Cajuns. Okde currently ranks sixth all-time at Louisiana in 3-pointers made with 135 career triples, behind Onna Charles (2005-08) with 143.
Double-Double2: The Cajuns have four double-doubles on the season, with two by Jasmin Mills, and one each from Brooklyn Arceneaux and Kia Wilridge. The double-doubles have come in groups, with Mills' coming in back-to-back games, and Wilridge and Arceneaux's also coming in back-to-back games. Mills scored 20 points with 11 rebounds against Nebraska Omaha (11/8/13) and followed that with 16 points and 11 rebounds against SUNO (11/11/13). Wilridge scored 11 points with 11 boards against South Alabama (1/15/14), and Arceneaux scored 18 points with 11 rebounds against Troy (11/18/14).
What's Next? The Ragin' Cajuns will close out the regular-season with games at WKU (March 5) and Arkansas State (March 8). The Cajuns are currently seventh in the Sun Belt Conference standings and would be paired with WKU in the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt Conference Championships beginning March 12 in New Orleans.
