Women’s Tennis Falls At UTSA, 7-0

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team fell 7-0 against UTSA on Sunday at the UTSA Tennis Center.

"Obviously this wasn't the result we were looking for," head coach Greg Harkins said. "We are a young team that is in the process of getting better each time out. Playing good teams like UTSA will only make us better down the road. We need to get back to work and continue to progress as a team."

The Roadrunners (3-4) jumped out to a 1-0 lead over the Cajuns (2-2) after clinching the doubles point with wins on courts one and three.

UTSA swept singles play as Jacobea Junger clinched the match defeating Nelo Phiri, 6-1, 6-3, at the No.1 position.

The Cajuns return to action on Wednesday with a doubleheader at Cajun Courts against Alcorn State and Xavier, La. starting at 2 p.m.
