Men’s Tennis Set for HEB Tournament of Champions

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The 67th ranked Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team opens the 2014 HEB Tournament of Champions with a 9 a.m. match against DePaul on Friday.
Louisiana (8-2) comes into the tournament as the No.1 seed in the even. The squad is riding a four-match win streak having defeated Rice 5-2 this past weekend on the road.
The Cajuns will either South Alabama or Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in the afternoon match on Friday at 4 p.m., while the third and final match of the tournament is slated for Saturday.
Western Michigan, UTSA, Tulane and SMU make up the other side of the bracket.
Sophomore Jake Wynan leads the Cajuns with seven wins in singles competition including four straight. Hunter Johnson is also riding a four-match win streak with perfect 4-0 record playing at the No.5 and 6 positions.
The Blue Demons (2-5) snapped a five-match losing streak with their 7-0 win over Bradley last Friday. DePaul is led by Paul John with a team-best four wins in singles play.
