LAFAYETTE, La. – Boasting a 5-2 record, the Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team returns to action on Wednesday with a doubleheader against Alcorn State and Xavier starting at 3 p.m. at Cajun Courts.
"Playing two matches in one day is never easy," head coach Mark Jeffrey said. "The guys will have to do a good job managing their day. Getting match play in though is always a good thing."
Louisiana is coming off of a 5-2 win at conference foe UT Arlington. The Cajuns are 2-0 at home this season after defeating Lamar 6-1 and Jackson State 5-0 on Feb. 1.
Alcorn State (0-5) suffered a 6-0 loss at Mississippi State this past weekend, while Xavier (1-1) comes into the match with a sweep of Loyola.
"Alcorn and Xavier are much improved teams and so we will have to be ready to go just like any other match," Jeffrey added. "Xavier is ranked No. 5 nationally in the NAIA and Alcorn State made it to the NCAA tournament in four of the last five years so we will need to match their intensity tomorrow."
Admission to the match is free. Fans not able to make it out to Cajun Courts can watch the feature court live on RaginCajuns.com.
