Family Night Kicks Off Sun Belt Championship at "The Tigue"

LAFAYETTE – The Sun Belt Conference will kick off the 2013 Sun Belt Conference Baseball Championship on Tuesday, May 21 with the Family Night Celebration at M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field.
 
Family Night is free and open to the public and will feature an awards ceremony and student-athlete home run derby. Gates open at 6 p.m.
 
Student-athletes from all participating Sun Belt schools will be available for autographs during the entire event.
 
Fans will receive a FREE set of Sun Belt Conference baseball autograph cards featuring a selected student-athlete from each league school, courtesy of Jostens, while supplies last.
 
The home run derby featuring one selected representative from each of the participating schools is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
 
The Sun Belt Conference Baseball Championship begins on Wednesday, May 22 at 9:00 a.m. at “The Tigue” and the tournament will be conducted over five days culminating with the Championship Game on Sunday, May 26 at 1 p.m. All games will be available via web stream on the Sun Belt Digital Network. The championship game will be aired on the Sun Belt Network.
 
Tickets for the 2013 Sun Belt Conference Championship at “The Tigue” remain on sale. Only tournament booklets will be sold in advance. Prices are $75 for chairbacks (grandstand) and $45 for bleacher seating. All seating for the SBC Championship will be reserved.
 
Purchases can be made in person at the UL Ticket Office located at the Cajundome (444 Cajundome Blvd.) or by calling (337) 265-2357.
 
Single-game ticket sales will start on Wednesday, May 22. Prices will be $15 for chairbacks (grandstand) and $10 for bleacher seating.
