Golf Finishes Ninth At Argent Financial Classic

CHOUDRANT, La. – The Ragin' Cajuns golf team finished in ninth place after carding a score of 19-over (307) on the final day of the Argent Financial Classic at Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant, La.
Louisiana placed in a tie for ninth with McNeese State at 54-over (918). No.32 North Texas won the Argent Financial Classic after posting the only round under par on the day shooting a score of three-under (285). The Mean Green finished with a 54-hole score of five-under (859).
No.15 LSU (-1, 863), host Louisiana Tech (+26, 890), UALR (+29, 893) and Southern Miss (+30, 894) round out the top 5 teams.
North Texas' Rodolfo Cazaubon caught fire on Tuesday carding a final round score of 67 (-5) to win the individual championship edging out LSU's Andrew Presley by one stroke at nine-under (207).
The Cajuns were led by senior Brandt Garon as he posted his seventh career top 25 finish and fifth of the year placing in a tie for 23rd at nine-over (225).
Both Ross Davis and Yohann Vora finished just outside of the top 25 in a tie for 27th at 13-over par (229).
Louisiana will have a week off before returning to action on March 25-26 at the Memphis Intercollegiate in Memphis, Tenn.
