Louisiana to host Texas State heading into final week of the regular-season

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Kelly Wiesmann posted a match-high 11 kills with a .421 attack percentage for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, but a balanced attack by Sun Belt Conference leader WKU was too much as the Lady Toppers claimed a 25-12, 25-17, 25-15 victory on Friday at E.A. Diddle Arena.
Haley Bodway collected eight kills and hit .636 at the net as WKU (23-5, 13-1 Sun Belt) won its seventh consecutive match – all in straight sets – since a five-set loss to Louisiana (18-11, 8-7 Sun Belt) on Oct. 13.
The Lady Toppers opened the match hitting .393 in the opening set and finished the match with a .349 average with 10 service aces. Heather Boyan had six kills and a .417 average for the Lady Toppers while Paige Wessel, Noelle Langenkamp, Melanie Stutsman and Janee' Diggins had five kills each.
Stutsman dished out 25 assists for WKU and recorded six service aces while Ashley Potts had a team-high nine digs.
Lavinia Tataran had nine kills for the Ragin' Cajuns with Abby Filce adding three. Andrea Hole had 25 assists and seven digs for the Ragin' Cajuns while Caitlyn Auxilien led all players with 10 digs.
Louisiana will return to action on Sunday when it plays host to Texas State in a 1 p.m. match at Earl K. Long Gym.
