Demps and Garis Represent Ragin’ Cajuns on All-Louisiana Volleyball Team

Duo led Louisiana to the top of the Sun Belt’s offensive charts in 2025 season
LAFAYETTE – Cailin Demps earned first team honors and Ryleigh Garis received second team honors, representing the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Volleyball team on the 2025 Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) All-Louisiana Volleyball team.
Announced on Thursday (January 8, 2026), the 2025 LSWA volleyball awards were selected by a voting panel which consisted of the state's volleyball athletics communications directors.
Demps, the 2024 LSWA Newcomer of the Year, was elevated to a first team spot after receiving honorable mention honors following her debut with the Ragin' Cajuns. The graduating senior opposite hitter picked up another postseason honor as she also represented Louisiana on the 2025 All-Sun Belt Team.
Garis collected her first postseason accolade since joining the Ragin' Cajuns for the 2025 season. She joins Siena DeCambra (2023 first team) as recent setters who worked in Kristi Gray's system to be honored by the LSWA.
For the ninth time in the past 10 seasons (since 2016), the Ragin' Cajuns received multiple All-Louisiana selections increasing the number of selections to 25 during the time period.
Under Gray's leadership, since 2021, UL has had 13 All-Louisiana selections, with multiple honorees recognized all five seasons.
Louisiana was one of six state programs to have multiple players voted onto the All-Louisiana Volleyball Team.
Demps led Louisiana's offense in production a second straight year, scoring a career-high 337 kills (3.59/set). It was the first 300-kills campaign recorded in her collegiate career.
She produced double digits in kills 20 times in 26 matches, overall, and 14 times in 16 SBC outings. She was a steady and consistent source of offense for the Ragin' Cajuns, scoring at least eight kills in every match for 11 consecutive weeks.
Demps' final season stat line included a career-best .287 hitting percentage.
Garis, a junior transfer from Cal State Fullerton, provided an instant impact on the Ragin' Cajuns' offense significantly improving in both production and efficiency. She had a team-leading average of 6.06 assists per set running the team's 6-2 attack.
She led UL to a sharp improvement in hitting percentage, the team rising from .156 in 2024 to a .238 clip in 2025, and also directed Louisiana to the No. 3 scoring offense in the SBC, overall, at 13.28 kills per set – an increase of over two kills per set from the 2024 season (11.30/set).
Garis' vision was a leading factor in steering a group of five different Ragin' Cajuns who scored 150-plus kills.
