HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team is slated to close out the 2013 fall season this weekend at the Golden Eagle Invitational on the campus of Southern Miss. The two-day event starts Friday at 8:30 a.m.
"We have seen improvement over the last few months which is the main goal during the fall," head coach Greg Harkins said. "We give the girls time to learn and grow through the experience. Our fitness has improved, and we are competing better from tournament to tournament."
The tournament field includes participants from host Southern Miss, Louisiana, Nicholls, ULM, Northwestern State, Southeastern Louisiana and Jackson State.
"We still have much work to do," Harkins added. "The level of play has gone up around the region, and we must push harder as a team to put our best effort forward on and off the court. We will take what we have learned over the last few months preparing for the dual season starting in January. The seasons go quickly, but we will be ready it's what we work for all year."
