Cajuns Women’s Tennis Travels To NSU Invitational

NATCHITOCHES, La. – The Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team will compete in its third event of the fall as the squad heads to the Northwestern State Invitational this weekend.

"We are looking forward to getting back on the court for our third tournament of the fall," head coach Greg Harkins said. "The girls have been working hard to get better and prepare ourselves for the spring. It will be nice to have the whole team in action this weekend. Hopefully we can come away with some positive results."

The tournament runs from Oct. 11-12 at the Lady Demon tennis complex and the Natchitoches Country Club. Play starts 8:30 a.m. both days.

The field includes participants from the host Lady Demons as well as Grambling, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana, Houston, McNeese, Sam Houston, Stephen F. Austin and Lamar.

Sandra Ahlqvist and Melissa Burckhartt will make their first appearance of the fall for the Ragin' Cajuns. Ahlqvist led the squad with 14 wins last spring.
