LAFAYETTE, La. - The 67th ranked Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team will close out the regular season this weekend with dual matches at Conference USA opponents Tulane and Southern Miss.
The Cajuns are slated to face the Green Wave on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Goldring Tennis Center in New Orleans. Louisiana will close out the weekend at the Golden Eagles on Sunday at 1 p.m.
“We've had a very good week of practice leading up to this weekend,” head coach Mark Jeffrey said. “I feel like we should perform well this weekend which should give us some confidence going into conference. Tulane will be a good test for us. They have been in and out of the rankings all season long and don't have too many holes.
“Southern Miss has also been in the national rankings this season. I think playing two teams of this caliber back-to-back will give us a good preview for next weekend.”
UL heads into the weekend with a 13-6 record and has won six of the its last seven dual matches. Tulane comes into the match with an 11-9 record, while Southern Miss holds a 9-13 mark.
Freshman Jarred Wynan carries a nine-match win streak into the Tulane contest. The streak started back on March 2 against Oklahoma States Adolfo Aires. Sophomore Ted Nilsson will also look to extend his seven-match win streak as well.
