Colomb and Elphage Highlight Final Day at LSU Relays

LSU Relays Day 2 Results
BATON ROUGE – Strong showings by the women's 4x100 meter relay squad, April Colomb in the 1,500 meter run and Kacey Elphage in the 100 meter hurdles highlighted the final day of competition at the LSU Relays for the Ragin' Cajuns Track and Field squad.
The 4x100 meter women's grouping of Morgan Breaux, Alexis Malone, Stacy Imagbe, Jasmin Fusilier placed second in the finals of the event running 46.62 seconds. The group had placed second in the preliminaries on Friday with a time of 46.82 seconds.
Colomb was tied with Akron's Jiilian Roth for the fastest time in the section B 1,500 meter run. Colomb was clocked at 4:58.69. It was her season debut in the event and the time was just three seconds off her personal best.
Elphage posted her second time of under 14 seconds in the women's 100 meter hurdles as she ran 13.69 in the finals on Saturday. She was just shy of the individual champion, Shanekia Hall of LSU, who ran in 13.61. Elphage and Hall were the only two athletes to run in under 14 seconds.
The Cajuns women's 4x400 relay grouping of Jasmin Fusilier, Krystal Chevis, Stacy Imagbe, Amanda Roberts placed fifth out of 13 teams with a time of 3:48.88.
Michael Vani reached his best outdoor height as a Cajun in the pole vault as he cleared 5.06m/16-7 ¼ which landed him a seventh place finish. For Vani, it was his fifth vault of 4.95m or higher as a Cajun (adding in indoor performances). He vaulted 4.95m/16-2 ¾ at last weekend's Louisiana Classics in his outdoor debut for UL.
In the women's 100 meter dash finals, the duo of Alexis Malone (12.04) and Morgan Breaux (12.10) finished fifth and sixth, respectively. They each ran a faster time than the preliminaries (Malone -12.14/Breaux -12.16).
Jasmin Fusilier turned in a Top 5 performance in the women's triple jump. Fusilier leaped 11.97m/39-3 ¼ which placed her fourth in the event.
UP NEXT FOR LOUISIANA
The Ragin' Cajuns travel to Austin, Texas, for the 85th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, scheduled to run March 28-31 at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas.
