Men's Tennis Sweeps Alcorn State

The Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team swept Alcorn State 7-0 in a dual match on Tuesday afternoon at Cajun Courts to move to 5-3 on the year.

UL jumped out to a 1-0 advantage after sweeping doubles competition. At No.1 doubles, Carlin Murray and Brandon Farine defeated Ernesto Santillan and Winfried Weinbeer 8-3, while Ted Nilsson and Damian Farinola won at No.2 doubles by a score of 8-1.

Elliot Minvielle and Daniel Alban closed out doubles play with an 8-4 win at No.3 doubles.

The Cajuns won five of the six singles matches in straight sets. Carlin Murray would be forced to close out his match in a super tiebreaker defeating Santillan 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-3).

The men's team returns to action tomorrow at 2 p.m. as the Cajuns host No.9 Kentucky at Cajun Courts.
