BEAUMONT, Texas – Coming off of a strong showing at the HEB Intercollegiate, the 71st ranked Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team is slated to return to action this weekend at the Lamar Cardinal Classic.
“I'm really looking forward to see how the guys have progressed up to this point in the fall,” head coach Mark Jeffrey said. “We have had some good practices and the team is really starting to come together. I expect the guys to come out compete hard and have a good showing.”
Competition is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 5 through Sunday, Oct. 7 with action starting at 9 a.m. on each day.
There will be four flights of singles draws and two flights of doubles. The first three flights of the singles will follow a pool play format, while the final flight will follow the compass draw format. Both doubles flights will follow the compass draw format.
The Cardinal Classic field includes host Lamar, Louisiana, Rice, Nicholls State, Texas-Pan American, and UTSA.
Freshman Jake Wynan will make his Ragin' Cajuns debut this weekend joining his brother Jarred Wynan in the first flight. Jarred is coming off of a consolation singles championship at the HEB Intercollegiate two weeks ago.
