Women's Tennis Falls to Samford 6-1

Louisiana's women's tennis team fell to Samford (2-0) on Saturday 6-1 in Birmingham, Ala. at the Samford Tennis Complex.

The match was closer than the final result revealed as the Cajuns (0-2) came away with a doubles match victory and UL players Briggitt Marcovich, Sophie van den Aarssen, and Erin Wilbert all took their singles matches to the decisive third set before eventually falling in the end.

Milou Israel picked up the lone point for the Ragin' Cajuns winning her singles match 6-4 6-4, while Wilber and van den Aarssen won their doubles match 8-5.

UL concludes their play in Birmingham, Ala. on Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. against UAB.
