GAME NIGHT STORY LINES
>>> The Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team won their third straight game on Sunday at home against Southeastern Louisiana 63-54 in overtime. The win completed the season sweep of SLU and is the Cajuns first three game streak since the 2006-07 season.
>>> Kemi Rotibi scored a career-high 21 points on Sunday, while grabbing nine rebounds and blocking four shots. It was the third straight game the senior has reached double figure scoring and the fifth time she has reached the mark this season.
>>> Senior Michelle Brunker and freshman Megan Whittaker also reached double digit scoring with 10 points apiece against Southeastern Louisiana. It was the duos second time scoring in double figures this season and the third time the Cajuns have had at least three players finish the game with 10-plus points.
>>> Louisiana shot 13-of-16 from the charity stripe versus SLU. The Cajuns are now shooting 69 percent from the free throw line this season, which ranks second best in the Sun Belt.
>>> The Ragin' Cajuns have held their opponent to less than 60 points during their three game winning streak. UL is now 4-0 on the season when accomplishing the feat.
>>> Mercedes Johnson returned to action on Sunday after missing two games with a head injury. The senior came off the bench to score eight points and garnered six rebounds
>>> Wednesday's game against Savannah State marks the beginning of a three game road swing for the Cajuns. Louisiana looks to extend their winning streak and is 2-2 on the road this season.
NOTES
>>> The overtime victory over Southeastern Louisiana was the first overtime game of the season. The Cajuns last overtime game against SLU occurred back in the 2009-10 season when the Lady Lions edged out UL 62-58.
>>> Sunday marked the third consecutive game UL has forced their opponent into 20-plus turnovers. The Ragin' Cajuns are 3-0 this year when they win the turnover battle.
>>> Louisiana is now 4-0 this year when holding their opponents to less than 60 points. The Cajuns record was just 3-5 last season when doing so.
SAD TO SEE GO?
>>> UL played its final game against Southeastern Louisiana this year. The Ragin' Cajuns swept the season series winning both games by an average of 10.5 points. It was the first time Louisiana has swept both games since the 1987-88 season.
>>> Krystal Motley and Kemi Rotibi both posted career-highs in each game versus the Lady Lions. Motley scored 27 in the first meeting while Rotibi poured in 21 in the second contest.
JOHNSON RETURNS
>>> Mercedes Johnson returned to the lineup for the Cajuns on Sunday for the first time since a head injury against San Diego on November 25. Johnson came off the bench to score eight points and grabbed six rebounds.
>>> Johnson is now at 1,261 career points and is fourth all-time on the UL scoring list. The senior needs 98 points in order to pass Teena Cooper and move into third place.
GOING STREAKING?
>>> The Ragin' Cajuns are seeking their first four game winning streak in Coach Rogers's era. UL has not had a four game streak since the 2006-07 season when the team finished 25-9 under coaches J. Kelley Hall and Meredith Hall.
SERIES HISTORY (UL Leads 7-2)
>>> The Cajuns won the first meeting between the two schools 64-42 on December 21, 2002
>>> In the 10th matchup all-time between the schools, both teams are looking in opposite directions. Savannah State are seeking to end their three game skid while Louisiana is aiming for its first four game winning streak since 2007.
>>> UL won the previous contest between the two schools played last season. The Ragin' Cajuns prevailed 63-58 and were lead in scoring by Mercedes Johnson with 15 points.
UP NEXT FOR RAGIN' CAJUNS
>>>UL will travel to Buthune-Cookman where head coach Errol Rogers reigned as an assistant coach for four years, on Friday, December 16, at 4:30 p.m. (CT).
