  • Louisiana (4-4) will play in back-to-back contests on Sunday and Monday, beginning at Centenary on Sunday afternoon.
  • The Ragin' Cajuns are coming off of a 67-57 victory over Southeastern Louisiana, where Louisiana forced 30 Lady Lions' turnovers.
  • A win for UL on Sunday would be the most wins for the Cajuns at this point in the season since December 2006 when UL compiled 10 victories (10-5 overall).
  • Senior Lyndra Bell led UL in the win over SLU, tying a career-high 18 points.
  • The Lafayette native shot 66.7 percent (8-of-12) from the floor, pulling in seven rebounds, picking three steals and dishing out an assist.

  • Sunday afternoon will be the seventh meeting between the Ladies and the Cajuns.
  • UL downed Centenary, 77-57, on Dec. 21 at Earl K. Long Gym. Four Ragin' Cajuns reached double figures, all with 11 points (Mercedes Johnson, Jasmine Barnes, Josie West and Alexis Green).
  • UL's only loss to Centenary was a 75-69 decision in overtime on Nov. 23, 2008.

 Scouting Centenary

  • Centenary (0-6) is looking for their first win this season and is looking to snap a nine game losing skid that dates back to Feb. 15, 2010.
  • Centenary is in their final year as a NCAA Division I member before transitioning to the NCAA Division III level in July 2011.
  • The Ladies are 0-2 in Summit League action with a 68-55 loss at Western Illinois and a 74-46 dropped decision at IUPUI.
  • Donecia Cook leads the Ladies with 12.7 points per game and a team-best 19 assists.
  • Senior forward Ashley Jackson is also averaging double-digits with 11.3 points per game and 5.0 rebounds per contest. Centenary is averaging 52.5 points per game, while opponents are scoring 83.5 points.
  • The Ladies are shooting 32.8 percent (103x314), as opponents are making 48.9 percent (198-405) of their shots.

  • Johnson is tied for seventh on UL's all-time free throws made list.

  • She is currently tied with DeLesha Qualls (1998-02) and needs just 83 more freebies to rank as UL's all-time leader.

'JAS'-ING IT UP

  • Senior Jasmine Barnes continues to contribute in a major way this season. The Baton Rouge native is averaging 9.3 points per game and leads the squad with 45 total rebounds for 5.6 per game through seven contests.
  • She is shooting a team-high 53.6 percent from the floor (30x56). Barnes has tallied five double-digit games this season, including 14 at Southern on Nov. 23.

 QUICK HITTERS

  • In Louisiana's four wins this season, the team is shooting an average of 50.4 per contest (120x238), rebounding 37.8 per game and has forced an average of 22.25 turnovers per game.
  • Junior guard Danyell Oliver leads the Cajuns with 11 made 3-pointers.
  • Oliver is averaging 10.4 points per game with 2.8 rebounds per contest. Oliver ranks first in free throws 20-of-23 (87.0).

 BELL STARTS OUT SENIOR SEASON STRONG

  • Lyndra Bell is off to a career-best start during her senior campaign. The Lafayette native tied a career-high 18 points in UL's win over SLU. She also pulled in seven rebounds in the victory.
  • Bell is averaging 8.0 points per game with 3.5 rebounds per contest. She is second on the team in field goal percentage, shooting 48.3 percent (28x58) in eight contests.
