Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns ran into a tough North Texas squad on Sunday afternoon in Denton, Texas as UL fell to the Mean Green by a final score of 4-0.
In a game that saw six total yellow cards and one red card, the Cajuns (6-7-0, 1-3-0) gave up two early goals that set the table for the Mean Green.
Michelle Young scored for North Texas just 1:41 into the contest thanks to a through ball from Loreli Ramsey. The Mean Green would increase their lead to 2-0 on a 15th minute strike from Carly McDowell.
North Texas (7-5-1, 2-2-0) would take the two goal advantage into the locker room at the half, but the Cajuns were unable to reverse their fortune in the second half as two more North Texas goals led to the 4-0 final.
Nikki Crocco scored in the 53rd minute while Ellen Scarfone scored on a penalty kick in the 65th minute to net the Mean Green's third and fourth goals.
Amanda Moorefield (6-7) was tagged with the loss in goal for UL as she gave up three goals while making three saves.
Four different Cajuns recorded one shot each while three of them were on goal.
UL returns to the pitch next Friday when they welcome Arkansas State to Lafayette for a 12:00 noon kick-off at the Ragin' Cajuns Track/Soccer Facility.
