Baylor was the first to light up the scoreboard in the 21st minute of the first half. Besty Kyle fed the ball into the box to Dana Larsen who headed it to teammate Lotto Smith who scored with a header of her own.
The Bears were able to go up 2-0 in the 27th minute after Lisa Sliwinski was awarded a free kick from just outside of UL's box. The freshman defender was able to find the top left corner of the goal.
Baylor tacked on an insurance goal in the 80th minute to go up 3-0.
But the Cajuns wouldn't go away quietly. In the 82nd minute, Cayla Chatman gathered up a loose ball rebound inside the box and scored her first career goal to avoid the shutout.
Louisiana was held to only six shots on the afternoon. Erin Gremillion led UL with two shots on goal. Four other Cajuns had one shot each, including Chatman's goal.
Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns will seek their first win of the season as they return to the pitch next Sunday to take on the Tigers of LSU. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
