Cajuns Drop Conference Opener, 2-0

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns opened conference play on Friday night with 2-0 loss to North Texas. The Cajuns were stifled by a Mean Green defense that allowed just three shots on the night.
North Texas opened up a 1-0 lead late in the first half at the 38th minute mark when Carly McDowell scored off a deflection in front of the net.
At the 48th minute in the second half, the Mean Green's Kendall Juett sent a ball into the middle and Ellen Scarfone was able to find the back of the net for the second goal of the night.
North Texas fired off 31shots on the night compared to UL's three. Megan Riley recorded the Cajun's only shot on goal.
Freshman goalkeeper Lauren Berlingo managed eight saves during the match.
The Cajuns' will look to snap their eight-game losing streak on Sunday as they take on Denver at 1:00 p.m.
