Cajuns Finish Eighth at Louisiana Classics

LAFAYETTE ? Colorado captured the 23^rd Annual Louisiana Classics in commanding fashion on Tuesday at Oakborne CC.

After posting a second-round low 4-under par on Monday afternoon, the Buffaloes notched a 9-under par team effort during Tuesday's final round to win by 13 strokes over SMU.

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns entered the day in fifth place, but slipped to an eighth place tie with 2007 champion Southeastern (La.).

SMU's Kelly Kraft, who entered the day in second place, won the individual championship with a two-under 70 on Tuesday. Kraft finished the three-round event 5-under par. Richmond's Jordan Utley was the individual leader after the first two rounds, but shot a two-over 74 to finish in second place, three strokes behind Kraft.

The Cajuns top finish came from Devin Carrey, who finished tied for seventh at 1-over par. Carrey recorded a one-under 71 on Tuesday ? his second straight card of 71.

UL's Thomas Disch, playing as an individual, finished tied for 12^th place at 3-over par. Michael Smith finished tied for 22^nd at 6-over par, giving the host-Cajuns three players in the top 25.

The low card for Tuesday belonged to Sam Houston State's Brandon Frankhouser who notched a 68.
