Cajuns Come Up Short

The Jaguars of South Alabama struck first. In the 14th minute Brandi Smith won a free ball near field and beat Amanda Moorefield on her right side.
The Cajuns brought the game within one in the 43rd minute when Chelsea Balestra found Callie Oliver streaking on the right side of the box. Oliver gathered the pass and beat

The Cajuns tied it up in the 85th minute when Carleigh Martin found Heather Fuller in box. Fuller beat the keeper and tied the game at 2-2. The game stayed that way through the rest of regular time. It was Fuller's third goal of the year.
In the second overtime period the Jaguars were able to find the back of the net to win the match 3-2. The goal came in flurry of shots in the 109th minute, when Kristin Sutton corralled a rebound and put the ball in the empty net.
Four different Cajuns had a point in the match as they fell to
Kellie Jestes, Oliver and Balestra are now tied for the UL scoring leader this year each with eight points. Balestra had her second assist of the year. Martin's assist was her first point of the season.
