Despite surrendering the early goal, Moorefield, who was making her first collegiate start, was solid the remainder of the half, keeping the Blue Raiders scoreless the final 40-minutes of the period. She faced 10 total shots in the first stanza with five shots coming on goal.
In the first half, the Cajuns tallied only five shots, but made them count as over half of them were on goal.
The Cajuns offense gave all they could in the second half having 10 shots and forcing the Blue Raider goalkeeper to make six saves.
The Cajuns defense did a great job in second 45, shutting down the Blue Raiders, and not allowing a goal.
Moorefield finished the game with eight saves tying her career record.
Kellie Jestes paced the Cajun offense with five shots, four on net.
The Ragin' Cajuns return to action next week with a pair of home matches. The Cajuns play host to the Troy Trojans on Friday night before taking on the South Alabama Jaguars on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff for the matches is
