LAFAYETTE-Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns women's soccer team will play a pair of home matches this weekend.  On Friday night, UL welcomes Grambling to the Cajuns Track/Soccer Facility for a 7:00 p.m. match before hosting Houston in an afternoon match at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.

The Cajuns are currently even at 1-1-1 on the season.  After dropping the first match of the season, the Ragin' Cajuns are currently on a two-match unbeaten streak ? topping Sam Houston State, 3-2, and playing McNeese State even 2-2.

Friday night's contest with the Tigers marks the first meeting between the two schools on the soccer field, while Sunday's contest with Houston will mark the fifth time in program history the two teams will have met.

Grambling enters the match with a 2-1 overall record.  After losing their first match of the year in overtime, the Tigers had a shutout win over Delta State and a 2-1 victory over fellow Sun Belt Conference member Louisiana-Monroe.  Grambling finished the 2006 season with a 9-6-2 record while claiming a near perfect 5-0-1 conference mark.

The Cougars hold a 3-1-0 advantage over the Cajuns.  UL opened the 2006 season with an overtime loss to UH on the road.  The golden goal came on a penalty kick with just seven seconds remaining in the first overtime period.  The match will be the first time the two teams have met in Lafayette.

QUICK KICKS:

ONE AWAY FROM 100: Head coach Scot Wieland enters the match just one victory shy of his 100th career win.  Wieland has recorded 13 wins as head coach of the Cajuns in just over two seasons.  He coached for six years at Belmont Abbey in North Carolina where he amassed 86 total victories.

SHARING THE WEALTH: The Ragin' Cajuns scored five goals in their three matches thus far this season.  Four different Cajuns' players have netted goals on the year with junior Callie Oliver being the lone Cajuns player with multiple goals.  Chelsea Balestra, Kelli Jestes and Stephanie Lynch have all contributed goals on the year.

TICKETS: Individual match tickets are available for all UL home soccer matches.  Tickets for home soccer matches are $6.00 for general admission, $4.00 for children and $4.00 for student escort tickets.  UL students get in free with a valid UL ID.

BUSY WEEKEND: On Friday night, the Ragin' Cajuns cross country team starts the season with the annual Ragin' Cajun Invitational.  The soccer team plays a pair of matches sandwiched around the football team's home opener.  The football team hosts Ohio at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday at Cajun Field.
