Carrey Claims Mean Green Title in Playoff

DENTON, Texas-It took a birdie on a par five on the fourth playoff hole, but Devin Carrey opened the 2007-08 golf season with a victory at the Mean Green Invitational.
After shooting a two-under par 70 in the opening round, Carrey bettered his score by a stroke to shoot a 69 and force a playoff.

UL's medalist helped the Cajuns to a tie for third place as a team with
Individually, all six Cajuns' golfers players finished in the top-25.
Following Carrey's five under par, Morgan Landry finished in tie for fourth place. Landry carded his second consecutive round of one-under par to finish the tournament with a score of 142.
Kyle Pritchard shot a one over par 73 to finish in a tie for 19th. Pritchard finished one stroke ahead of Michael Smith, Dustin Petit and BC Thibeaux. The trio finished in a tie for 24th. Smith and Petit carded rounds of 73 and 74 respectively, while Thibeaux rebounded from an opening round 75 with a even par round of 72.
