The spring season came at us full swing this year. We were not prepared with what lay ahead of us, yet, we were able to pull through and end the spring on top. Like always, the season started off with...yep, you guessed it...fitness. I don't think anyone really forgot, especially me, since I was able to sprain my ankle tripping on the metal bar surrounding the track. Anyway, after about a month of fitness we started playing with a soccer ball, and it felt like Christmas. Moreover, we had five playing dates to look forward to, which also felt like Christmas since we were very excited to play with teams other than ourselves.
Our first day of playing consisted of three matches. After working hard all day and brushing off our rusty game cleats for the first time since November, Callie's family had cooked the whole team BBQ. And it was so delicious...I think I ate almost a whole bottle of their homemade BBQ sauce by myself. Our journey that started at five in the morning ended in our locker room at
Now we were focused on our next match against
It felt like déjà vu when we played
It was the Second Annual Ragin' Cajuns 7v7 tournament (well, it started out 8v8 but was later changed). Many teams were there including our two awesome teams, Louisiana-Monroe, Houston, William Carey, the Alumni team, and not one but two
That concluded the spring season but let's not forget those painful days with Coach Rob. He helped push us with weights and has made us stronger. And we look GOOD. Also, I don't know about you guys but I definitely liked our last practice, even though all the other practices were pretty cool... I guess. But the slip-n-slide, water balloon, and popsicles were the bomb. Hopefully, coach liked that idea and we can start off preseason just the way we ended it.
Until August...Geaux Cajuns!
P.S. The best BBL team this season was the “Pee Chart #9” team, even though we only played like 3 nights of BBL... In case people do not get why we were called that, it is because we wore yellow jerseys...
