Baylor Tennis Sweeps Cajuns Men

WACO, Texas- Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team was defeated by second-ranked Baylor on Tuesday after the Bears swept the Cajuns in six straight sets. The loss moves the Cajuns to 1-2 on the season.

In singles action, Piotr Banas was defeated in the No.1 position by #56 Lars Poerschke 6-2, 6-2, while Dusan Tabak lost to #17 Michal Kokta after retiring due to injury at the No. 2 spot. Tabak's loss clinched the match for the Bears.

Newcomer Janusz Conradi was defeated by #66 Denes Lukacs 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 3 spot and Shaun Ellsion lost to Matija Zgaga at the No. 4 spot 6-3, 6-1.

In the No. 5 position, Jorge Delgado was defeated by #53 Dominik Mueller 6-2, 6-2, while Zack Taylor lost to Attila Bucko 6-2, 6-4 at the No. 6 spot.

In doubles action, Delgado and Tabak were defeated by Zgaga and Mueller 8-3 at the No. 1 spot, and Banas and Conradi lost to Matt Brown and Bucko 8-6 in the No. 2 position. In the No. 3 position, Taylor and Ellison were defeated by Poerschke and David Galic 8-2.

The Cajuns will next face Nicholls State Feb. 4 at Cajuns Courts. Matches are set for 2:30 p.m.
