NT jumped out to an early 1-0 lead as Heather Hutyra scored in the ninth minute of action. Hutyra was assisted on the goal by Kristen Campbell.
North Texas wouldn't hold the lead for long as UL came right back and tied the match 1-1 on an unassisted goal by Taunya Geelhoed at the 12:27 mark. The goal was Geelhoed's third goal of the 2006 season.
The Mean Green regained the lead just before halftime as Kendall Juett took a Kelli Lunsford pass and found the back of the net for a 2-1 lead.
The powerful Mean Green team took control in the second half scoring three goals, one of which came off a corner kick by midfielder Kristen Campbell.
The Ragin' Cajuns had five shots on goal but couldn't find the net as the shots kept sailing high and wide. The Cajuns finishes the 2006 season with an 8-8-4 record while North Texas improves to 14-4-2.
The Cajuns conclude the season with the most wins in school history. UL also set the school record for most conference victories on the year.
