Soccer Match with Tulane Canceled
Ragin' Cajuns women's soccer match with Tulane has been canceled

Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns women's soccer match with in-state foe Tulane has been canceled. The match originally scheduled to be played Sunday, Sept. 18 in Lafayette will not be played.

With the displacement of the Tulane campus, especially the soccer team, officials at both schools felt it was in the best interest of those involved to cancel the match. There has been no word as of now as to whether the match will be rescheduled for a later date.

“It is unfortunate,” head coach Scot Wieland commented. “You never want to cancel a match. But, we understand and sympathize with Tulane's situation.

“You always want to play when you can, but this will give our girls a chance to rest a little and get their legs back under them,” Wieland added. “They have been working hard and this rest will do them good.”
