Rasmussen Named to All-Sun Belt Second Team
Rasmussen is the first Cajun to be named to the all-conference team since 2002

MIAMI Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns freshman midfielder Lotte Rasmussen (pictured) was named to the 2004 All-Sun Belt Conference second team, announced Tuesday evening at the annual awards banquet.

Rasmussen becomes just the third Cajun in the program's five-year history named to the all-conference squad. In 2002, Sara Vienberg was named first team All-Sun Belt, while Stacey Smith was named to the second team.

The Holstebro, Denmark native led the Cajuns with team highs in goals (six) and total points (15). Rasmussen helped lead the Cajuns to a 7-9-2 (3-4-1 Sun Belt) record, breaking school records for single-season wins (seven), total goals (31) and total points (91).

Earlier in the season, Rasmussen scored back-to-back match-winning goals, leading the Cajuns to victories over Arkansas State and Arkansas-Little Rock.

For her efforts, Rasmussen was named the Sun Belt Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week for Oct. 19.

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns will face No. 3 seed Denver (8-9-2, 6-2 Sun Belt) in a 6 p.m. CST match in the quarterfinals of the 2004 Aeropostale Sun Belt Conference Championship here at Florida International.
