Receive Recognition For Academic Success
Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003
That
philosophy was true to form this past academic year as
the Ragin' Cajuns women's soccer team posted a team
grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the second
straight year, thereby earning the squad the NSCAA Team
Academic Award for the 2002-03 school year.
The Cajuns posted a team GPA of 3.04 for the '02-03 school year. In addition, 12 players were named to the '02-03 Sun Belt Conference Honor Roll.
“I am very proud of what our team has accomplished academically,” Poggi said. “This recognition marks the achievement of one of the goals we set out for every year – to maintain excellence in the classroom.”
The academic award will be presented at the College Coaches Luncheon on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, as part of the 57th Annual NSCAA Convention, to be held in Charlotte, N.C., Jan. 14-18, 2004.
A total of 336 intercollegiate soccer programs (72 men, 264 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2002-03 school year.
Louisiana-Lafayette was one of four Sun Belt schools to be recognized joined by Middle Tennessee, South Alabama and Western Kentucky.
