B.J. Duplantis has been a part of the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns athletic training staff since 2007, elevating to the position of Associate Director of Athletic Training in 2012 before being named Associate Director of Sports Medicine in 2017.
He is directly responsible for the athletic training needs of the Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball (2007-present) and golf (2008-present) teams, in addition to the supervision of all Sports Medicine staff interns. Duplantis also serves as the Special Events Coordinator for all postseason athletics competition hosted by the University.
Since 2009, Duplantis has served on the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners (LSBME) Athletic Training Advisory Committee, serving as the chairman since 2015.
A native of Chalmette, La., Duplantis served for four years (2003-07) as an outreach athletic trainer for CENLA area high schools through Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, La., prior to arriving at UL. He spent the 2007 season as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Alexandria Aces, which won the United Baseball League championship for the second consecutive year.
Duplantis received his bachelor's degree in health and exercise science from Northwestern State University in 2002 and his Master's in health and physical education from NSU in 2005. During his tenure with the Demons, he worked under long-time Athletic Trainer Ed Evans and helped cover the Demons' football, baseball, men's basketball and track and field squads.
He has been a certified athletic trainer and member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) since 2007 and the Louisiana Athletic Trainers Association (LATA).
He is married to the former Ainsley Moreau of Bunkie, La., and they are the parents of a daughter, Charlee.
