Led all hitters at the NCAA Region III tournament with six RBIs...Hit grand slam in the top of the first inning against Mississippi State May 18, giving the Lady Cajuns an early 4-0 lead...Was named to the All-Sun Belt Conference first team for the first time...Was named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week April 22, following an 8-for-18 performance the week before against Nicholls State and New Mexico State...Went 7-for-12 with four home runs and eight RBIs against the Aggies...In an April 21 doubleheader sweep of NMSU, had three home runs and seven RBIs...Set career highs this season with 14 home runs and 54 RBIs...One of four Lady Cajuns with double-digit home runs...In SBC play, Martin hit eight home runs and drove in 16 runs...Hit her first and only career triple against Creighton, Feb. 17, at the Oklahoma/Nike Classic...Was 4-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs in 7-3 win over Middle Tennessee April 13...Hit two doubles in a game seven times this season...Had a season-high seven-game hitting streak, April 20-27...Hit game-winning, solo home run in the bottom of the sixth in game one April 27 as Lady Cajuns downed Florida International 1-0...Had 14 multiple-hit games this season and 16 multi-RBI games (team leader)...Five times this season has driven in three runs and twice driven in four...Hit a three-RBI double in sixth inning of SBC Tournament championship, breaking open a 1-0 Lady Cajun lead.2001: Was second on team with eight home runs and 46 RBIs...Also second with 13 multi-hit games...Came alive at SBC Tournament...Was named tourney’s Most Outstanding Player after going 7-for-14 with two home runs and eight RBIs in squad’s four games...Went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and five RBIs against Nicholls State March 25...Was named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week March 26...Also went 3-for-4 with a homer in Lady Cajun win at Western Kentucky April 22...Had sacrifice fly, which turned out to be game-winning RBI in win over fourth-ranked Louisiana State April 18...Had two home runs and 11 RBIs in 20 conference games.
Junior College: Played two seasons at Gulf Coast Community College before transferring to UL Lafayette…Was named second-team All-American during her final season at Gulf Coast CC …Two-time All-State pick at Gulf Coast…Named 1999 Panhandle Player of the Year.
High School: Was a four-year letter winner at Riverside Academy for coaches Mickey Roussel and Matt White…Four-time All-District selection and All-State pick in 1996…Five-year letter winner in basketball and school’s all-time leading scorer with 2,022 points…Also won four letters each in volleyball and track…Was member of school-record setting 4X100 meter relay team …Also high school’s shotput record.
