Spent two seasons at LSU-Eunice...As a freshman in 2010, Carter helped lead LSU-E to the NJCAA Division II championship and played alongside former Cajun Jordan Bourque...In 18 2/3 innings of work he struck out 21 while walking only five...Made 10 apperances (9 starts) during his sophmore campaign in 2011...Sported a 4-0 record and 3.67 ERA through 49 innings....Held opponents to a .259 average and allowed just 11 extra base hits...Was named a Junior College Academic All-American.

Prepped at Baton Rouge's Parkview Baptist High School...Pitched for head coach M.L. Woodruff...Helped lead the Eagles to the 2009 Class 3A state title...Was an Academic All-State selection.
