Louisiana Takes a Trip to Troy for Sun Belt Opener

Ragin’ Cajuns seek to gain strong footing in early stages of conference race
TROY, Ala. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Volleyball team is set to begin Sun Belt Conference play on the road in Troy, Alabama with a two-match series against the Troy Trojans from Friday-Saturday, September 25-26.
UL and Troy begin play inside Trojan Arena at 6:00 p.m. on Friday (Sept. 25) then conclude the weekend set on Saturday (Sept. 26) in a 2:00 p.m. contest. Both matches are being broadcast on ESPN+.
With non-conference play now complete, the Ragin' Cajuns trip to Troy begins a season-ending, 16-match stretch of SBC matches that closes November 13-14 at E.K. Long Gym against Coastal Carolina.
The Ragin' Cajuns (5-8) and Trojans (5-4) meet on SBC Opening Weekend for the first time since back-to-back years in 2022 and 2023. Louisiana starts conference play on the road for the second straight season.
Louisiana exited non-conference play with one of the Sun Belt's top frontline defenses – one of five teams league-wide to throw up 100-plus blocks. Sophomores Lindsey Henry (53 blocks) and Emily Williams (46 blocks) are pacing the efforts at the net.
Troy's at home for the second straight weekend, coming off a three-match sweep of the Trojans Invitational. Despite a smaller sample size, having played only 29 sets, the Trojans are Top 5 in the SBC at 12.9 kills per set.
