LEADING OFF
>> Louisiana wraps up regular season play and makes one final push to improve its seeding in the SBC Championship tournament while in Mobile, Alabama from April 30-May 2.

>> It's likely the Ragin' Cajuns will need to at least take 2-of-3 from South Alabama to earn a first round bye in the SBC Championship tournament.

>> Louisiana enters the final weekend having won back-to-back SBC series, highlighted by last weekend's series win over league-leading Marshall.

>> UL and USA meet on the final weekend of the regular season for the first time. From the time USA joined the SBC in 2007 up until 2023, the Cajuns had faced ULM in the finale.

>> Facing South Alabama marks the third straight year the regular season ends with an opponent other than previous year-ending foe ULM.

>> Louisiana played its best softball in conference play the past two weekends, batting .356, recording a 2.62 ERA, limiting foes to .258 hitting and fielding .979 (only 3 errors) in series wins over Coastal and Marshall.

>> The Ragin' Cajuns now look to channel the recent success into road success, where the team stands just 2-15 in true road games.

NOTEWORTHY
>> Pitchers Sage Hoover and Bethaney Noble each claimed a complete game victory over SBC-leading Marshall last week. Combined, they held The Herd to three earned runs and a .183 average over 21 innings.

>> Sage Hoover handcuffed Marshall, the SBC's top home run hitting team, yielding just seven hits across the 51 batters she faced over 13 innings. She limited The Herd to a single earned run and a .159 average.

>> With team-high totals in hits (7) and runs scored (8) vs. Coastal, Kennedy Marceaux took over the team lead in SBC play. She's generated 29 hits and scored 19 runs in conference play.

>> Kennedy Marceaux posted a 15-game hitting streak in SBC play from March 22-April 25, a stretch spanning six series that's built her .426 conference-play average.

>> Overall, Kennedy Marceaux has recorded a hit in 18 of the last 20 games, batting .435 (30-of-69) – raised her batting nearly 80 points (from .268 to .344).

>> Mia Liscano has generated a team-best 15 multi-hit games. She paces the Cajuns with a .417 batting average, 53 hits, and 32 runs scored.

>> The team-leading 13 doubles, 11 home runs and 46 RBI all represent career-high totals for Brooke Otto.

>> Brooke Otto's series-high eight RBI vs. Coastal, elevated her SBC play total to 20 RBI. She ranks Top 5 in conference play in RBI (21).

>> Freshman Haley Hart has emerged this spring with nine home runs and one of the top slugging marks (.645). She's generated a team-high tying 53 hits with .376 hitting and posted 39 RBI.

ABOUT LOUISIANA
>> Haley Hart's walk-off single in the Marshall series opener marked UL's seventh walk-off win of the season.

>> The Cajuns comeback knack, with six wins coming after trailing after five, is fueled by a 68-28 runs scored advantage over the sixth and seventh innings combined.

>> Four Cajuns are batting .350-plus in SBC play, led by Mia Liscano's conference-leading .429 mark. Kennedy Marceaux is right behind her at .426.

>> Louisiana is 20-2 when producing six runs or more and 22-4 when out-hitting the opposition.

>> The Ragin' Cajuns are unbeaten when leading after five innings (18-0) and six innings (18-0).

>> Louisiana's offense ranks Top 100 nationally in average (.307), runs (279), total hits (399), home runs (45), RBI (259) and slugging percentage (.485) while ranking near-Top 100 in scoring (110th, 5.5).

>> The Ragin' Cajuns have involved four arms in the circle with Sage Hoover (117.2), Bethaney Noble (98.0), Julianne Tipton (52.1) and Lexie Delbrey (45.0) each having worked 40-plus innings.

THIS 'N THAT
>> The Ragin' Cajuns seek a return to their championship and postseason ways in the 2026 season. Last season, UL finished third in the SBC and missed the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1999.

>> Louisiana was picked to finish third in the Sun Belt Conference Preseason Coaches Poll.

>> 2025 Sun Belt Freshman of the Year Emily Smith is the top returner on offense looking to build upon a 50-hit, 40-RBI debut in her collegiate rookie season.

>> The two-time reigning national leader in total double plays turned, Louisiana's defense crafted 81 double plays over the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

>> The double play tandem of Cecilia Vasquez and Mia Liscano highlights an infield defense that has led the nation in double plays turned the past two seasons.

>> Acadiana-area softball star Kennedy Marceaux of Kaplan, the 2024 Louisiana Gatorade Softball Player of the Year, headlines the newcomers.

>> The 2026 campaign marks the 46th season in the storied history of Louisiana Softball. The program debuted in 1981 and since has recorded 1,941 wins, a total that ranks Top 5 in NCAA history.
