Louisiana Baseball Cracks National Rankings In Three Polls

Ragin' Cajuns ranked No. 25 by D1Baseball/NCBWA, No. 22 by Perfect Game
LAFAYETTE – Coming off a Sun Belt Conference-series win over South Alabama and winning 15 of its last 18 games, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Baseball team cracked the top-25 in three national polls on Monday.
Louisiana (15-5), currently with an RPI of 12 and the 10th-toughest schedule by WarrenNolan.com, entered the national polls ranked No. 25 by both D1Baseball and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and No. 22 overall by Perfect Game. The Ragin' Cajuns also received votes for the first time this season in the USA Today Coaches' Poll, where it was ranked 30th overall.
The rankings mark Louisiana's return to the national stage for the first time since entering the 2024 NCAA College Station Regional, when the Ragin' Cajuns appeared in three national polls — No. 22 (D1Baseball), No. 21 (Baseball America) and No. 23 (USA Today Coaches Poll) – and also receiving votes in the NCBWA poll.
During the 2026 season, Louisiana has played 11 games against teams ranked in the top-40 in RPI – Missouri State (No. 11), UC San Diego (24), Kansas State (37), and Maryland (40) – along with eight additional contests against top-100 programs: South Alabama (No. 55), UTRGV (No. 77), Rice (No. 85) and Dallas Baptist (No. 94).
Louisiana will open a four-game road trip through the state of Texas beginning on Wednesday when it visits Big 12 opponent Houston at 6:30 p.m. The Ragin' Cajuns will then head west to San Marcos to face Texas State in the final SBC series between the schools beginning on Friday.
The Ragin' Cajuns will return home for a four-game swing beginning on Tuesday, March 24, when it hosts in-state opponent Southeastern Louisiana at M.L. Tigue Moore Field at Russo Park.
