Ragin' Cajuns wrap up Florida trip at West Florida on Monday
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Martina Della Gora clinched the doubles point alongside Safia Zenbi and later rallied for a three-set victory at No. 4 singles to lead Louisiana to a 6-1 win over Stetson on Saturday at the UNF Tennis Facility.
Della Gora overcame Dana Baidaulet, 2-6, 6-1, 6-4, in singles play as the Ragin' Cajuns (3-3) claimed five of six singles matches.
Angelique Berrat anchored the lineup with a 6-4, 6-0 win over Pilar Astigarraga Harper at No. 1 singles. She also paired with Nina Krecklenberg for a 6-3 victory against Harper and Baidaulet at No. 2 doubles.
Ana Martinez Vaquero added a three-set win at No. 5 singles, defeating Yuki Mizuguchi, 6-2, 1-6, 6-4. Zenbi secured a 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 decision over Anastasija Adeikyte at No. 3, while Rocio Navarro posted a 6-4, 7-5 win against Clelia Lombardi at No. 6.
Louisiana wrapped up doubles play by taking two of three matches to secure the opening point.
Stetson fell to 3-3 overall.
Louisiana concludes its three-match swing through Florida on Monday with a 1 p.m. match at West Florida at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex.
