Louisiana resumes SBC play after win over CMU; leads all-time series, 9-2

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball team returns to Sun Belt Conference play on Thursday when it plays host to Coastal Carolina at the Cajundome.
 
Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. The game will be available on ESPN+, with fans able to listen to the game in the Lafayette area on KPEL-FM (96.5) and worldwide on the Varsity Network app. Live results will be available at CajunStats.StatBroadcast.com.

Louisiana (9-16, 6-6 SBC) extended its win streak to four games after rallying from a halftime deficit for the second consecutive game in defeating Central Michigan, 85-80, in the MAC-SBC Challenge.
 
De'Vion Lavergne scored 19 points and led six players in double figures – the first time Louisiana had six players score 10 or more points since an 84-67 win at Rice in 2023. Karris Bilal and Todd Jones Jr., scored a career-best 16 and 15 points, respectively for the Ragin' Cajuns with Dariyus Woodson coming off the bench to add 14.
 
Jaxon Olvera scored 11 points for Louisiana with Dorian Finister chipping in with 10.
 
Finister (14.1 ppg.) and Olvera (11.3) are the top scorers for Louisiana with Lavergne following at 9.6.
