Lewis' Career Night Helps Louisiana Complete Season Sweep Of ULM

Four players in double figures as Ragin' Cajuns score season high
LAFAYETTE – Freshman Joshua Lewis scored a career-high 26 points to lead four scorers in double figures as the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns defeated the ULM Warhawks, 85-79, in a Sun Belt Conference game Thursday night at the Cajundome.
Senior Dariyus Woodson also had a season high, scoring 17 points on a perfect 6-6 from the field, including a pair from beyond the arc. Dorian Finister added 16 points, while Jaxon Olvera chipped in 10, helping Louisiana (4-13, 2-3 SBC) to a season sweep of the Warhawks.
Louisiana dominated the boards, outrebounding ULM (3-14, 0-5 SBC), 40-23, and hauling in 18 offensive rebounds. Lewis led the way with nine rebounds, while Finister added six boards – five on the offensive end to help the Cajuns to a 19-6 advantage in second chance points. All 11 players who saw action for the Ragin' Cajuns secured at least one rebound.
Krystian Lewis led ULM in both scoring and rebounding, tallying 25 points and seven rebounds. MJ Russell and Renars Sondors were the other Warhawks in double figures, scoring 14 and 12 points respectively.
Louisiana never trailed in the second half, after a back-and-forth first half that saw six ties and eight lead changes, with the Ragin' Cajuns leading 37-36 at the break. The Cajuns led 45-42 at the 14:23 mark when Lewis scored five straight points in less than a minute to stretch the lead to eight.
ULM closed to within four after Russell scored five in a row, but Finister buried a triple and hit a layup on a fast break to make the score 59-50 midway through the second half.
The lead grew to 13 for Louisiana after a Woodson layup with 5:24 to play, capping a spurt of 10 straight field goals, but ULM fought back with nine unanswered to cut the lead to 73-69 with 3:47 left.
Louisiana shot 54.5 percent on 18 of 33 shooting from the floor in the second half and finished at 48.5 percent (33-for-68) for the contest. ULM shot 53.8 percent (28 of 52) for the contest, including 16-for-27 (59.3 percent) after intermission. The Ragin' Cajuns were 11-for-33 from 3-point range, hitting double figures for the fourth time in five conference games.
Louisiana wraps up its five-game homestand on Saturday when it plays host to Troy (10-6, 3-1 SBC) in a noon contest.
